Job Summary
The Empire, North Bay's Landmark Retirement Residence, is seeking an experienced friendly, professional, and compassionate Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for residents, families, and visitors, the Receptionist plays an important role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. The successful candidate will be organized, dependable, and committed to helping ensure a positive experience for everyone who enters the Emprie.
Responsibilities
- Provide initial face-to-face and telephone contact with residents and visitors.
- Assist with resident and visitor inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Present a positive image of the Empire to the public.
- Respond to emergency calls.
- Attend to the needs of residents and/or notify appropriate staff as required.
- Provide administrative support for the Executive Director and other members of the management team.
- Provide direction to visitors and callers and notify appropriate staff as required.
- Support administrative processes including filing, data entry, and record maintenance.
- Handle payments from residents or family members.
- Sort incoming daily mail for distribution to residents and all departments.
- Follow all company policies and procedures including fire and safety programs.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and organizational information.
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- Post secondary education in a related field.
- Previous reception or customer service experience required.
- Patience, tolerance, and politeness when responding to residents and visitors.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multi-tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience handling cash and processing payments is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working in a retirement home is an asset.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
