Rna Diagnostics is a cancer diagnostics company building a platform of predictive biomarkers to improve the lives of cancer patients. At Rna Diagnostics we have created the RNA Disruption Assay (RDA™); a real-time tool used in the management of cancer chemotherapy.
Rna Diagnostics is looking to hire a Research Scientist for the Rna Diagnostics’ laboratory located in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Purpose: The successful applicant will assist the company with various aspects of the business including but not limited to:
Perform in vitro experiments using cell lines under various conditions
Isolate, quantify and analyze RNA from a variety of experimental and clinical samples using both manual and automated methods
Perform direct RNA sequencing or sequencing of reverse-transcribed rNA's (cDNAs) using Nanopore Technocology protocols
Communicate with clinical coordinator related to clinical trial samples
Process clinical samples following SOPs, including running the company's RDA assay
Plan and perform analytical validation studies in order to meet accreditation requirements
Assist in the writing and revision of SOPs, protocols and reports and other documentation related to regulatory requirements
Assist in day-today operations of the laboratory, perform equipment maintenance and participate in laboratory management, organize and manage sample database
Read relevant scientific literature to maintain and advance knowledge
Effectively communicate (oral and written) with subordinates, peers and management.
Present and interpret potentially complex information and views, clearly and concisely in meetings and discussion.
Qualifications, Skills, Ability:
PhD in Biology/Biochemistry or related discipline with experience in cell culture, RNA isolation and analysis; PCR based assays and sequencing methodologies. Regulatory experience preferred.
Candidates must be currently legally entitled to work in Canada
Demonstrated positive work record, excellent written communication skills
