Ceridian is seeking a collaborative and ambitious Manager, Government Remittances who will lead, inspire and evaluate performance for a Trust (Canada) team that is responsible for the administration and processing of periodic company level, payroll tax related filings and payments, exceeding $30 Billion annually. The incumbent will be an analytical, energetic self- starter who will be looked to as the primary support person and subject matter expert for the internally developed Canadian Government Remittance System (GRS application). Reporting to the VP, Canadian Trust, the successful candidate will help coordinate departmental strategy to align with Trust Global strategy and the overall organizational vision and goals.
Canadian Trust GRS application business owner. Coordinate, strategize, and define business requirements and processes to support required legislative updates and new development.
Responsible for the timely and accurate remittance of customer funds to various Canadian tax authorities.
Primary liaison with both tax agency offices and internal support personal, for resolving complex customer issues.
Coordinates and manages the work of a Trust team who are responsible for, but not limited to, the administration and maintenance of the Trust (Canada) GRS application.
Oversees work for accuracy and completeness. Coordinates deadlines.
Responsible for developing objectives for the team that are in line with organizational goals and audit requirements.
Provides leadership and management to team members by evaluating performance, providing ongoing support, coaching, training, promoting rewards and recognition and ensuring that appropriate tools are provided to allow for efficient and effective job performance.
Member of internal legislative compliance team and other change management teams.
Highly developed organizational and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage and coordinate staff schedules as well as project work while maintaining focus, timeliness and productivity.
An analytical personality with and ability to articulate ideas and requirements effectively.
A detail-oriented individual that can manage daily operations with critical business deadlines.
Calm and patient under pressure.
Proven ability to be flexible and highly adaptive in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in planning, developing and implementing solutions to resolve business issues or customer needs.
Ability to interpret strategy and translate it into implementable programs and activities.
CPA Certification, Payment processing &/or banking experience would be considered an asset
Canadian payroll, including source deductions validations, experience or equivalent payment processing experience (Preferred)
Experience in business process design and documentation (Preferred)
Post-secondary finance or related education (diploma or degree level) desired
2- 5 years of experience with managing subordinates in a service environment
PC skills (Microsoft Office suite, keyboarding, etc.).
Advanced customer service skills
