Job Description:
Mackenzie Health is embarking on a multi-year modernization of its human resources, finance, and supply chain services to implement a new Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP). The ERP program is a pillar of enabling exemplary corporate services functions which will provide a backbone of support for the entire Hospital. These services play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources, to enable high quality care, and ensuring Mackenzie Health complies with ever-changing regulations. Corporate services transformation is at the forefront of the organization’s priorities to create a more agile, responsive, and efficient system.
Mackenzie Health is seeking an experienced individual to play a key technical lead role in this ERP project, focusing on providing leadership, guidance, and expertise on the selection and implementation of the new ERP system.
The successful candidate is a highly motivated individual who will play a critical role in the overall success of the ERP implementation, by ensuring existing and future business and technical needs are met. They will ensure that the new system is stable, and malleable to accommodate the changing needs of the organization. They will lead the architecture of a cloud-native applications and infrastructures to drive the creation industry leading practices. They will be responsible for leading and defining the architecture to ensure the performance, scalability, and usability of the system(s). They will contribute to strategic technology directions and define technical continuous improvement objectives in collaboration with their teammates and leadership. Primary Responsibilities:

Provides leadership and is an innovative thinker who, with the support of their Project Manager/Scrum Master, assigns tasks, identifies, tracks, and removes blockers (risks, issues). Ensures sufficient resourcing is available to complete tasks. Escalates blockers as appropriate.

Plans the ERP system architecture and modernization multi-year architecture strategies/roadmaps to deliver cost effective, scalable, and reliable systems. This work will at minimum include working with the vendors and internal teams to:

Assists with the migration to a new cloud-native ERP.
-
Enables mobility, integration, and APIs for the ERP.
-
Target, transition, and future architecture and environment plans.
-
Customization items.
-
User experience/portals.
-
Change management and user adoption.
-
Acts as the technical liaison between technology and business by coordinating and collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors for the smooth functioning of the ERP system. Understands integration points between, legacy systems, front-end, back-end and satellite systems and highlights potential solution delivery risks.

Manages the ERP end-to-end data architecture, designs the architecture (with the vendor). Leadership with customization items.

Integrates technical functionality, ensures data accessibility, accuracy, and security (with the vendor).

Defines architecture and technology standards, patterns & technology best practices for the ERP.

Identifies and tracks assumptions and constraints and ensures program methodology and standards are being adhered to.

Identifies tasks and assists in the creation, coordination, and execution of program work plans/deliverables, revising as appropriate to meet the changing needs/requirements of the program.

Leads their team, in conjunction with the vendor, for technical requirements, procedures, and infrastructure.

Supports the ongoing decision-making and adherence to the program timelines.

Creates and/or reviews and/or approves program deliverables. Ensures deliverables are high quality and aligned with program standards. Resolves any issues related to deliverable completion and/or escalates appropriately.

Provides updates to the Director of ERP Implementation & Transformation regarding deliverable / task / sprint completion levels.

Executes testing and/or aids with testing as assigned. Creates/updates test scripts as assigned.

Participates in any required procurement which may include RFPs, Quotes etc.

Develops or contributes to business cases for new technology solutions.

Demonstrates a commitment to efficiency and continuous improvement through innovation and best practices during and post-implementation.

Works with the Director, ERP Implementation and Transformation, and team members to plan continuous roll out and growth of the roadmaps and strategies developed during implementation.

Stays abreast of current and emerging technologies.

Technology activities, as assigned, related to monitoring, vendor assignment, troubleshooting etc.

Drives and takes technology solutioning and decisions for their stream.

Advises on technical architecture changes, compliance with requirements and alignment with business objectives in collaboration with team members.

Reviews and provides insight to functional design documents and ensures consistency of documentation of integrated solution.

Ensures compliance to architecture standards, patterns & best practices.

Contributes and or leads designs and optimization of application and integration strategies for the cost-effective delivery of scalable and reliable distributed systems.

Manages product end-to-end data architecture, designing the technical architecture.
-
Keeps abreast of latest technological/industry trends.
-
Advises and develops metrics related to system efficiency improvements, user satisfaction and process optimization.

Coordinates release management activities.
-
Monitors and interprets trends and best practices for ERP architecture and best practices and advises the Director, ERP Planning & Implementation on future development opportunities, the potential impact to the Mackenzie Health, and/or for decision-making/action planning purposes.

Conducts research; and prepares ad hoc reports for the Director, ERP Implementation & Transformation
What must you have?
-
Post-secondary degree in Information Technology Management, Computer Science, or related combination of education & experience.
What else do you bring?
-
7+ years of experience as an Architect with ERP application technology solution, architecture covering Applications, APIs, and Systems Integration, data, and cloud.

Experience managing local and/or cloud architecture including system integration, data, and database architectures. Experience with agile and interactive architectures.
-
Ability to simplify complex concepts into tangible plans.
-
Plan and lead the work of technical team members.
-
Experience with infrastructure, networking, and security in cloud-based delivery models.
-
Experience architecting/operating solutions build on Azure, GCP, others.
-
Experience in program & project scoping and planning with Agile process and tools.
-
Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills, including above average writing skills, for working with individuals and teams at all levels of an organization.
