We have an opportunity for a rehabilitation therapist in the Huntsville area. Just as we are client-centered, we also believe in creating a work environment that supports our clinicians’ goals. As a Rehabilitation Therapist at Brainworks, you will implement individualized community-based rehabilitation programs as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team specific to the client. Your work will be under the clinical direction and supervision of regulated health professionals, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Language Pathology for example. Treatment services are goal-oriented and focused on optimizing cognitive, behavioral, functional, and psychological rehabilitation.
Rehabilitation Therapists provide one-to-one therapeutic intervention and support to clients of all ages and with varying levels of ability and disability. Our clients usually come to us following a significant trauma and may be living with brain injuries, chronic pain, post-traumatic stress, or struggling to cope in the face of acquired disability.
Requirements
· Post secondary education is required or equivalent relevant experience
· Experience with brain injury, PTSD and / or pain management is a definite asset
· A working knowledge of Ontario’s insurance-funded treatment systems would be an asset
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory
· In this region, services are typically provided in client homes and relevant community locations, travel will be required for a fulltime position. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
· Candidates need to be highly motivated, care about the people we serve, and equally able to follow direction and blaze a path
· Candidates must be able to work as part of a team, as well as work well independently
