Position Overview
The Level 3 Early Childhood Educator plays a key role in planning, implementing, and leading developmentally appropriate programs. This educator ensures a safe, positive, and inclusive environment while supporting children’s learning, development, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
Program Planning & Implementation
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate, play-based learning activities.
- Create weekly lesson plans following child-centered and emergent curriculum.
- Support children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Set up engaging classroom environments and learning centers.
Child Supervision & Safety
- Ensure active supervision at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Follow all licensing, health, and safety guidelines.
Relationships & Communication
- Build positive, respectful relationships with children and families.
- Communicate daily updates with parents in a friendly and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the daycare team to maintain a supportive work environment.
Documentation & Reporting
- Observe, document, and assess children’s developmental progress.
- Maintain accurate records as required by Alberta Child Care Licensing.
Leadership Responsibilities (Level 3)
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 educators.
- Support the development of center policies and program improvements.
- Assist in organizing events, curriculum planning, and classroom management.

Qualifications
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 3 Certification (required).
- Current First Aid & CPR Level B.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Strong knowledge of child development and play-based learning.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a daycare or early learning setting preferred.
