Holiday Inn & Suites Mississauga West – Meadowvale is seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in food preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality of dishes.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
- Support the head chef by preparing meals according to menu specifications.
- Handle food items safely and responsibly, following proper food handling procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during meal periods.
- Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements.
- Assist with catering events as needed, ensuring all food is prepared and presented beautifully.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
- Familiarity with menu planning and meal preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the food industry.
- Excellent knife skills and ability to handle various kitchen equipment safely.
- Experience in catering or restaurant environments is a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
