Job Title: Dispatcher
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager / Director of Operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in cooperation and provide support to the drivers and owner operators.
- Conduct all administrative duties in a professional manner.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of information to and from trucks.
- Assist drivers with route planning and loading/unloading concerns.
- Keep sales and operations up to date on movement of trucks and any special requirements.
- Ensure that drivers are compliant with federal logbook regulations.
- Communicate with Safety Manager regarding incident information.
- Complete non-conformance reporting, bringing driver issues to attention.
- Coordinate with dock/warehouse staff to plan, schedule and optimize LTL shipments to ensure efficient flow of freight, accurate loading and on-time delivery.
- Ensure the deployment of appropriate equipment and personnel for jobs and projects.
- Work with other Operations personnel, Customer Service (sales) to schedule equipment availability
- Customer and Customs liaison
- Work closely with maintenance to position equipment to Mill Creek or other repair agencies for work.
- Work to ensure that customer requirements are met.
- Work with Customs Department and drivers to provide ACI and ACE paperwork and entry numbers.
- Tracking and tracing loads and communication with Customer Service regarding issues or delays
Requirements:
- 3-5 years dispatch experience
- Solid understanding of all the aspects of the transportation industry
- Strong knowledge of USA and Canada geography
- Ability to work as a part of the team.
- Ability and desire to work in a positive, fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based software
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Pay: $62,000.00-$68,000.00 per year
