Some of what you will do
As the Manager FP&A, Business Services, you will be responsible for financial planning and reporting, supporting the Service executive teams. You will be involved in budget, forecast (in-month and long range), reporting and month end close for our Service division. As well as, analyzing KPIs, and developing enhanced, value added financial analysis and insight to help drive improved financial and business performance. You will work closely with the business and leadership team to understand and evaluate key business trends and to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and forecasts. You will also be involved in operationally supporting any new strategic areas and initiatives and ensure alignment to external and internal policies. You will be inspired to bring your best every day and make your mark.
Specifically, you will:
Build and maintain budget and forecasts models for extended warranties, subscription and other service revenue
Maintain deferred revenue schedules and recognition of revenue against agreements
Liaise with various departments, such as but not limited to, Service, IT, Inventory Control, Sales Audit, Accounting, etc. and work with the business to identify/validate key business assumptions and incorporate them into the monthly forecasts, annual budget, and outlook
Support the development of strategy and the 5-year long range plan model
Be a subject matter expert in IFRS 15, to ensure financial impacts are accurately captured
Actively lead and/or participate in various process and system improvement initiatives, special projects and ad hoc analysis
Responsible for the overall month end closing process for service revenue and margin
Ensure high employee engagement at every level through effective motivation, coaching, training, and development of associates on the team
Some of what you need
5 to 7 years of progressive experience in finance role, with a focus in accounting, budgeting and planning
Working knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15
Experience in retail, particularly multiple-location/national and multi-channel retail is an asset
University degree (B.A.) with commerce/business administration focus or equivalent in work experience is required.
Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or MBA preferred
Exceptional financial analytical ability skills preferably developed in a retail environment
Critical thinking, can see the ‘big picture’ in a complex business environment
Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail
Expert level working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and other MS office applications
Comfort and confident in dealing with senior leadership
Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present complex information to non-technical business partners, including senior management
Ability to interpret large amounts of financial and non-financial data and summarize it to present meaningful information to various levels of management
Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and motivating others
