Job Overview
Ener-Spray Pacific Ltd. is one of BC's leading specialty contractors, providing spray-applied fireproofing, intumescent fireproofing, spray foam insulation, and thermal/acoustic insulation services. We are currently looking for an experienced Intumescent Paint Applicator to join our growing team.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality finishes while working safely on multi residential, commercial and institutional construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Apply intumescent fireproofing coatings to structural steel using airless spray equipment.
- Perform brush and roller application where required.
- Prepare surfaces by masking, cleaning, sanding, and protecting adjacent finishes.
- Measure and verify wet film thickness (WFT) and dry film thickness (DFT) throughout application.
- Read shop drawings, specifications, and coating schedules.
- Operate and maintain airless spray equipment.
- Assist with touch-ups, repairs, and final detailing.
- Complete daily quality control documentation.
- Work safely from scissor lifts, boom lifts, and scaffolding.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience applying intumescent coatings or industrial protective coatings preferred.
- Experience with products such as Cafco SprayFilm, Carboline, Sherwin-Williams, Nullifire, or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of airless spray equipment.
- Ability to read tape measures and coating specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
- Ability to pass site-specific safety requirements.

Pay: $30.00-$36.00 per hour
