Lead Barista – Brick & Brew
Brick & Brew is hiring a Lead Barista for our beautifully restored café in the heart of downtown Edmonton.
Located inside the historic Foote Residence, just steps from the Legislature, Jasper Ave, and the River Valley, Brick & Brew is not your typical coffee shop. We are bringing new life into one of Edmonton’s most unique heritage spaces and creating a warm, polished, neighbourhood-style café where great coffee, good food, and genuine hospitality come together.

We are looking for someone experienced, reliable, and passionate about coffee and food. Someone who cares about the details, takes pride in their work, and wants to help set the tone for a café people remember and come back to.
What You’ll Do
As Lead Barista, you will help lead the front-of-house café experience day to day. This includes:
- Preparing high-quality espresso drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and other café beverages
- Dialing in espresso and maintaining drink consistency
- Supporting light food service, prep, and presentation
- Providing warm, professional, and memorable customer service
- Helping train and support other baristas/café staff
- Keeping the café clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service
- Managing opening/closing duties and daily workflow
- Working with ownership/management to improve systems, menu flow, and guest experience
What We’re Looking For
The right person will have:
- Strong barista experience, ideally in a busy café or specialty coffee environment
- A genuine passion for coffee, food, and hospitality
- Leadership ability, you do not need to be corporate, but you do need to be reliable, confident, and able to set the tone
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work clean, stay organized, and handle rushes calmly
- Experience with POS, cash handling, and basic food safety
- Latte art, espresso dialing, or café opening experience is an asset

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
