$56,500 yearly; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions such as EI and CPP.

30.00 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week
Position Description / Major Responsibilities
The role of an assistant manager is crucial in supporting the restaurant's success by providing effective leadership, ensuring operational excellence, and creating a positive environment for customers and employees. The duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist in managing restaurant operations to ensure a high standard of service is being delivered & maintain timely completion of orders.
- Ensuring that all food and beverages meet Tim Hortons' quality standards and are prepared consistently.
- Assisting with inventory control, stock management, and placing orders for supplies, avoiding shortages and wastage.
- Enforcing food safety and hygiene practices to comply with health regulations and maintain a safe environment for customers and staff.
- Managing cash registers, handling cash transactions, and ensuring accurate accounting procedures.
- Assisting the manager in creating work schedules for employees, taking into account labor regulations and individual availability.
- Providing regular reports to the manager on sales/employee performance, customer feedback, and any operational issues that may arise.
- Assist in recruiting and training new staff members.
- Supporting marketing and promotional activities to drive sales and increase brand awareness.
- Encouraging teamwork and a positive work culture among employees to boost productivity and job satisfaction.
- Managing and resolving customer complaints.
Specific Job Requirements
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Minimum one year of work experience in the food service and preparation including supervisory experience is required.
- Requires good communication skills in English, ability to deal with customers and food service employees.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register.
