Management Systems Advisor, Full Time
MacKinnon & Olding has an immediate need for a Management Systems Advisor. This position will be responsible for leading in implementation, maintenance, governance, auditing, and continual improvement of MacKinnon & Olding’s Management Systems in alignment with Enterprise-wide governance & compliance frameworks and requirements.
The Management Systems Advisor will ensure enterprise-wide policies and M&O operational management system requirements are effectively integrated into its business operations, thus supporting the M&O and the enterprise-wide organizational strategic objectives, growth initiatives, risk management activities, and operational excellence goals.
Please note that the successful candidate will need to obtain their Controlled Goods Clearance and Reliability Status to enter the shipyard.
RESPONSIBILITIES: What you will do
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of M&O’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Provide practical guidance on management system requirements, process ownership, and quality-related expectations
- Coordinate management system training, awareness activities, and employee engagement initiatives
- Support corrective action processes, root cause analyses, and continual improvement initiatives
- Assist with the integration of new contracts, clients, services, and operational activities into the management system
- Develop, review, and maintain management system documentation, including policies, procedures, forms, work instructions, and process maps
- Develop and maintain quality performance metrics, dashboards, trend analyses, and reports
- Coordinate and conduct internal audits and support external, client, certification, and regulatory audits
- Track and monitor corrective actions, audit findings, nonconformances, opportunities for improvement, and management review action items
- Maintain management system records and databases to ensure compliance and audit readiness
QUALIFICATIONS: Your background
- Post-secondary education in Quality Management, Business Administration, Engineering Technology, HSEQ, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting management systems, quality assurance, auditing, continual improvement, or related functions
- Experience working in industrial, construction, marine, shipbuilding, fabrication, maintenance, or project-based environments considered an asset
- Experience supporting and maintaining ISO 9001 compliant management systems
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification preferred; Lead Auditor certification an asset
- Experience participating in audits, corrective action management, and continual improvement initiatives

- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and document management systems.
