Rooted tree solutions is currently hiring a climbing arborist to join part time in our spring/summer season. As an arborist, you’ll be responsible for the care, maintenance, and assessment of trees in residential areas.
Payment: 25.00$ - 40.00$ per hour depending on experience. Potential for raises will be provided based on performance. This is a contractor, part time role with potential for full time hours as the season kicks off.
Job Duties:
· Strong knowledge and experience with rope access for tree climbing is an asset
· Prune trees to remove dead, damaged, or diseased branches to improve their structure, appearance, and safety
· Ensure proper pruning techniques are followed to avoid damaging the tree
· Work with tree-climbing techniques or aerial lifts for larger trees
· Evaluate site conditions and recommend the best tree care practices for the location
· Assume responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment
· Operate and maintain equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
· Ensure job sites are clean, safe, and professionally managed
· Communicate effectively with clients and team members
Qualifications:
· 1-2 years’ experience as an arborist or related field is required
· Valid class 5 drivers license required
· Familiarity with a chainsaw is an asset
· Correct arboriculture techniques for trimming & pruning
· Strong understanding of safety practices related to tree care
· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks requiring strength and stamina
· Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Ability to lift and carry 50lbs minimum
