We are seeking a reliable and motivated Rehabilitation Assistant to join our cohesive team for a project full time position.
Royal Inland Hospital offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services. Specialty services include ambulatory psychiatry, elderly mental health, clinical nutrition, and lung health.
You will be part of a team of clinicians working across the spectrum, from Acute and Critical Care to inpatient or slow stream Rehab, and Outpatients. Job duties assigned per operational requirements. Day-to-day duties include helping implement Physio designed and prescribed exercise and conditioning programs, assisting complex mobility patients re-learn how to mobilize, various mobility equipment setup and provision, reinforce fall prevention strategies, reinforce Physio teaching to patient and family about specific precautions and coordinate with other disciplines to provide patient-centered team-based care in your assigned area.
Schedule is rotating Days 08:00 to 16:00 hours. The project position end date is March 31, 2023, with opportunity to apply to upcoming vacancies through internal job postings. All new staff are assigned mandatory learning through our online system. A robust orientation of 3 to 5 days is provided, including an introduction to the Physiotherapy team. Opportunities are available for participation in In-services for education and skills development. All staff are also mentored by those on their team and have available ongoing support through their Professional Practice Leader and the Section Heads. Routine interactions, support and learning also happen with the larger Rehabilitation team (other Rehabilitation Assistants and other Allied Health disciplines).
We are seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant who works well within the team but also able to work independently with good people and communication skills.
