Journeyperson Certificate in a related field (i.e., Pipefitting, welding)

5+ years of spooling production experience, ideally in Oil & Gas fabrication of compression or process packages would be preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret all red-line markups and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID's, G.A.’s)
- Working knowledge of the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation, and Code as it pertains to our industry.

Strong knowledge of assembly/fabrication/production processes, techniques, and quality control methods.

Must have experience in Supervision of a spooling department
PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT(Weighting 80%)-
Oversee the daily operations of the spooling department, ensuring adherence to technical drawings, specifications, welding procedures, etc.

Collaborate with Production Floor Supervisors, employees, and contractors to ensure efficient delivery of project schedules

Participate in problem-solving, planning, and scheduling

Manage and assign work to be completed

Attend production meetings, providing department updates as required

Prepare cross-over reports with the afternoon shift to ensure productivity
- Plan and allocate resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient production flow.

Communicate resource loading requirements to direct reports.

Liaise with shipping & receiving, ensuring parts and materials are received, tracked and ready in advance for installation
LEADERSHIP (Weighting 20%)-
Directs, mentors and trains apprentices.

Oversee performance management of direct report employees

Engage with and build good positive working relationships with all stakeholders including but not limited too, Applications, Engineering, Design, Doc Control, QC, and Safety.

Maintain a safe work environment, complete job hazard assessments, lift assessments, and Safety walks, facilitate inspections and required maintenance, conduct weekly toolbox talks
- Participate in Safety, QC, and all other company programs
