The Role
This is not a typical entry-level helper position. From day one, you will be expected to manage commercial and residential routes completely independently and unsupervised. You must be a reliable self-starter who takes pride in your work when nobody is watching.
This is a highly demanding, heavy physical labor role. To succeed, you must be comfortable with:
- Operating heavy lawn mowers, line trimmers, and snow machinery independently.
- Lifting, moving, and safely climbing high-extension ladders for window and gutter cleaning.
- Working outdoors on your feet for full shifts in all Alberta weather conditions (summer heat, rain, and freezing winter mornings).
Shift & Seasonal Expectations (Year-Round Commitment)
This is a permanent, year-round part-time role. This position is not suitable for students due to daytime and year-round availability requirements.
- Spring/Summer (April – October): Fixed schedule (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). At least one day per week requires a sharp 5:30 AM start time.
- Winter (November – March): On-call standby based on Alberta weather. You must be available for all snow events. Overnight snowfalls mean mandatory 5:30 AM start times to clear properties before businesses open.
What We Are Looking For
We will fully train you on our specific quality standards, but you must possess the confidence to work alone and have a baseline comfort level in at least one of the following:
- Operating commercial yard maintenance/landscaping equipment
- Winter snow removal (shovels, blowers, sweepers)
- Working confidently at heights on ladders/gutters
- Towing and maneuvering a utility trailer
- A clean driver's abstract (essential for navigating solo routes)
