We’re looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to join our Burnaby, BC global headquarters
In this role you’ll:
Plans and leads a variety of financial, operational and strategic internal audits as directed by the annual Risk and Internal Audit plan and by the Manager, Internal Audit.
Coordinates and executes Sarbanes-Oxley compliance (SOX) efforts at our Head Office and global accounting centers, including identification of deficiencies and proposed remediation plans for failed tests, liaising directly with internal management / staff and the Company’s external auditors.
Assists the Manager, Internal Audit with:
The development of the annual Internal Audit Plan.
Coordinating and executing risk management and internal audit activities.
Managing SOX projects and personnel in order to identify in a timely manner any risks to the compliance effort and to remediate those risks.
Preparing materials for management and Audit Committee consumption.
Preparing and/or delivering presentations to the Accounting group (including the CFO).
Coordinating the external auditors’ audit of RBA’s internal controls over financial reporting.
Coordination and execution of the Enterprise Risk Management processes.
Reviews the on-going/annual updating of any changes to documented accounting processes and/or IT processes.
Reports on and presents clear and concise audit findings and recommendations to management.
Stays current with emerging rules and standards regarding internal controls over financial reporting, internal audit standards and best practices, and enterprise risk management.
Supports value-add / consulting risk and controls activities, as required, throughout the organization.

Here’s what you bring:
Chartered Accountant designation, ideally coupled with a CIA and / or CISA certification.
2+ years of post-CA designation experience working on financial, operational, and strategic internal audits.
2+ years of experience with SOX compliance projects.
A proven track record of planning and leading internal audits for publically traded companies.
Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal).
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Understanding of risk management principles and application.
Ability to be agile and responsive to change in priorities, processes, and controls.
High ethical standards; understands functional independence and can effectively balance this with a collaborative, value-add approach.
Ability to work in a team environment.
This job will require you to:
Ability to travel for work (approx. 20-25% travel).
