Seasonal, temporary, full time position in the Dundas/Flamborough area (16 vacancies).
Duties include: filling and carrying pots and trays, making cuttings, planting, transplanting and moving liners and potted plants, watering crops, packing plants, loading and unloading trucks, keeping the greenhouses walkways and the work areas clean, operation and light maintenance of greenhouse equipment, light ground maintenance, weeding inside and around the greenhouses. This is a physically demanding job that requires bending, crouching, kneeling, standing and walking for extended periods of time. The working environment is related to floriculture and may be hot, humid or cold and damp depending on the time of the year and where the crops are located.
Work Setting: Rural area. No remote work. All work on site.
Work location: 250 Highway 8, Dundas, ON L9H 5E1
Transportation: Must have own transportation. Area not accessible by public transportation.
Wage: $ 17.60 per hour.
Schedule: 40 to 60 hours per week. During busy / peak times weekends and evenings are required.
Skills required: No degree certificate or diploma needed. No experience required.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced, tight deadlines, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, ability to distinguish colours, ability to operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery.
