We are actively seeking a skilled Echo Technologist to join our dynamic team in Alberta. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiograms (ultrasound imaging of the heart) with precision and attention to detail, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process clearly and addressing any concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation.
- Operate advanced ultrasound equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to interpret results accurately and facilitate timely diagnosis.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and technical findings in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and cleaned according to institutional standards.
- Stay current with advancements in echocardiography techniques through ongoing education and training.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Echo Technologist or similar role within a medical imaging setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to cardiology diagnostics.
- Demonstrated ability to operate ultrasound equipment effectively while maintaining patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Certification or licensure as required by provincial health authorities or relevant regulatory bodies.
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced clinical environment is preferred but not mandatory.
