About the Position
Yo-Bones BBQ Catering Ltd. is looking for a reliable, friendly, and hardworking Food Counter Attendant to join our team at a corporate cafeteria in Burnaby.
This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position with primarily morning shifts. The successful candidate will help provide friendly and efficient service to employees, assist with food preparation and serving, maintain a clean and organized cafeteria, and support the daily operation of the kitchen and service area.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service
- Take customer orders and process payments accurately
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to company standards
- Assist with daily food preparation, portioning, and setup
- Keep food displays, serving areas, counters, and dining areas clean and organized
- Restock food, beverages, condiments, utensils, and other supplies as needed
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and presentation
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment and work areas
- Follow instructions from supervisors and work cooperatively with the team
- Help maintain a welcoming and professional environment for our corporate clients
- Perform other duties related to cafeteria operations as required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurants, cafeterias, or customer service is an asset
- FoodSafe certification is an asset
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, cleaning, and restocking
- Attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety
- Positive attitude and professional appearance
- Must be available to work Monday–Friday, primarily during morning and daytime hours
