Senior Accountant
Our client, a privately held family office and asset management organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Edmonton. This is a unique opportunity to step into a highly visible, hands-on role supporting a complex portfolio of entities, investments, and real estate holdings. Your success will be defined by your ability to:
Provide full-cycle accounting support across multiple entities within a family office environment
Prepare monthly financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting analysis for management
Support month-end and year-end activities while ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial information
Assist with corporate compliance activities, audit preparation, and various tax-related requirements, including U.S. filings
Support the Controller with financial planning, reporting, and ad hoc analysis as required
Monitor accounts payable activities and assist with cash management and operational finance matters
Work through competing priorities while effectively managing urgent requests and special projects
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
Take a proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving and process improvement in a highly dynamic environment
Your strengths include:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience working in a multi-entity, holding company, family office, or entrepreneurial environment is strongly preferred
Strong full-cycle accounting and financial reporting experience
Exposure to audit preparation, compliance, and tax support activities
Experience with Microsoft Business Central is considered an asset
Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in an unstructured, fast-paced environment with changing priorities
