Under the direction of the Shop Manager, and the supervision of Machine Lead, the CNC Machinist will set-up and operate precision metal cutting and grinding machines and carry out other job duties as required. The CNC Machinist will also be responsible for maintaining their equipment and interpreting blueprints.
DUTIES
· Manufacturing of parts on CNC machines including but not limited to lathes and milling machines
· Interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, manuals, and work instructions to reach a specified end product that meets client specifications and tolerances
· Study of sample parts to determine dimensions of finished work pieces and CNC equipment setup requirements
-Document and report deviations and tolerances
· Setup and calibration of CNC machines as required to meet production requirements
· Loading parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of parts to ensure conformance to work order specifications
· Upkeep and preventative maintenance of CNC and support equipment
· Work in conjunction with the Quality Control/Assurance Department to ensure a consistent and quality product
· Work in conjunction with the HSE and HR departments to promote a safe working environment and feedback on training needs both internally and externally
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum 1 years of experience operating CNC machines
· Can have minimal setup experience
