What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Assembly Lead Hand, the Pipefitter will be responsible for assembling, installing, layout, maintaining and repairing of piping systems.
· Measure, cut, thread, assemble, and install primary piping systems
· Experience with bolting up, pneumatic testing, piping material knowledge, layout
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
· Ability to tack weld and torch holes
· Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems & remove and replace defective components
· Pneumatically test system for leaks
· Select type and size of pipe as per drawings or piping specifications
· Measure, cut, clean, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size
What You Will Achieve:
Within 90 Days: Master NEXT Compression’s piping standards, safety protocols, and assembly processes while consistently producing accurate, high‑quality work on assigned systems.
Within 6 Months: Independently handle full pipefitting tasks, from layout to testing while contributing to team productivity and demonstrating strong blueprint and P&ID interpretation skills.
Within 12 Months: Serve as a dependable go to technician who mentors newer team members, leads complex piping assemblies, and actively supports continuous improvement initiatives across the shop.
What You’ll Bring:
· Valid Journeyman Pipefitter ticket
· Able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and P&ID’s
· Required to perform physical work, including walking and standing for extended periods of time and the ability to lift heavy objects of up to 50 lbs.
· Flexible availability required, may be required to work days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays
Additional Preferred Assets:
· Minimum 3 years in Gas Compression
· Minimum 3 years in an Assembly Shop environment
· Valid Standard First Aid certification
· Valid Fall Protection / Fall Restraint certification
· Valid Forklift Operator certification
· Valid Confined Space Entry / Monitor / Rescue certification
