Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 5 Ton Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a professional with strong driving skills, knowledge of warehouse operations, and the ability to handle heavy loads efficiently. Duties
- Safely operate a 5-ton truck for local and regional deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads for transport
- Assist with moving goods within warehouses or storage facilities as needed
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues promptly
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally during deliveries
- Follow safety protocols and report any vehicle or equipment issues immediately
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a 5-ton truck
- Proven experience in commercial driving, warehouse operations, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of moving equipment such as forklifts is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and handle physically demanding tasks safely
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers
- Warehouse experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with logistics processes
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely (training provided if necessary)
- Good driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with transportation regulations
