Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in our afternoon/evening bakery operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking along with a commitment to maintaining food safety and quality.
Duties
As a Bakery Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the preparation of baked goods according to established recipes and standards, including cakes, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, fillings, and other prep work etc.
- Ensuring all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area to promote a safe working environment.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient bakery operations.
- Monitoring inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting shortages as needed.
- Decorating Cookies, Cupcakes, Brownies, Macarons, Cake Pops, Cinnamon Rolls
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience in the baking industry or restaurant environment is preferred
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members. Must be fluent in English
- A willingness to learn new baking techniques and improve skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings (6am start), afternoons and weekends as needed.
