Manager, Procurement position oversees the procurement of all goods and services for assigned business units, in support of all operational and capital work.
This position is a one-year contract opportunity.
Lead end-to-end procurement activities supporting the successful and cost-effective execution of activities for assigned business units: issuance of Purchase Orders, RFx creation and evaluation, supplier and contract management, contract administration, material expediting, logistics coordination, and invoice resolution.
Ensure that all procurement requirements are executed in alignment with established category strategies.
Deliver value-back to Sherritt through effective negotiations, procurement planning and fact-based supplier selection in the execution of sourcing activities.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with current regulatory, legal and Sherritt policy requirements.
Oversee and improve the procure-to-pay process; coach internal clients on best-in-class procurement practices to optimize costs.
Qualifications and Skills
Post-secondary degree in business, supply chain, or finance
Professional designation – SCMP, SPSM or PMP
10+ years of related experience
Advanced knowledge of contracting law and contracting best practices
Advanced negotiation skills; strong planning skills, including scheduling and coordinating
Effective written and verbal communications skills
Advanced computer skills, including working experience in ERP systems
