The Maison Notre-Dame House Inc. provides safe shelter for women and children who are victims of abuse.
The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible to receive and manage crisis calls from women who are victims of domestic abuse who are not living at the shelter or who have not yet left an abusive relationship and are seeking support;
Using assessment tools, measure the client's level of danger and create a safety plan with the client;
Accompany clients to court and health professional appointments, RCMP or other related supports;
Offer individual support to clients and referrals to appropriate services;
Establish an action plan with client and offer various mini-sessions related to family violence, self-esteem, etc. to clients;
Offer public presentations in the schools and various resources in regards to services offered by Transition house & Outreach services related to family violence, sexual assault, healthy and unheathy relationships, warning signs, etc.
Promote services by using different marketing/social media tools;
Responsible to coordinate special events such as: Sexual Assault Prevention Month activities, "Take Back the Night" prevention walk, "Walk a mile in her shoes", etc..
The Outreach Coordinator must have post-secondary studies related to social services or community intervention;
A combination deemed equivalent of training ans experience can be taken into consideration;
Must have first aid and cpr training withing first 3 months of employment;
Criminal record check and a Social Development record check are required;
Must have valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle since Outreach Coordinator will need to promote services and travel throughout Restigouche to meet clients, schools, businesses and various community agencies.
