Job Summary
As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a key role in the design and development of industrial automation and material handling equipment. You will work closely with a collaborative design team to complete detailed designs and provide technical support throughout the fabrication and installation process.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed mechanical drawings using Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD
- Design mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Collaborate with other designers, engineers, and project managers
- Prepare BOMs, general assembly drawings, and fabrication documentation
- Participate in design reviews and kickoff meetings
- Support manufacturing and installation teams with technical drawings and clarification
- Complete as-built documentation based on input from the shop or field
- Assist with project documentation and file management
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (minimum 2-year program)
- 5 years of experience in mechanical design
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD (2015 or newer)
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
- Familiarity with motors, gearboxes, drive systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control components
- Strong drafting fundamentals and technical drawing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work overtime when needed
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally (occasionally)
