As the Business as Mission North America Conference, we have our sights set high, looking for the right person to join our small team as the Development & Event Sales Manager. Your primary responsibility is driving sponsorship and attendee revenue for the conference through outbound relationship-based sales.
You will be personally mentored while you develop high-level sponsorship, fundraising, and relationship sales skills. You will be working directly with experienced business leaders. If this resonates with you, maybe you are the one we are looking for!
Your daily workflow:
- Show up remotely, from the comfort of your home.
- Build and manage your sales pipeline with our great lists, scripts and strategy
- Make 10+ outbound calls or emails per day to:
- Close sponsorship deals and earn based on the Sponsorship revenue target
- Secure group and early-bird Attendees to earn based on Ticket sales targets.
- Compensation: ~$30/hr including a base contract for part-time work over 9 months, and a Bonus on the attainment of milestones.

About you
- You are in alignment with the values and purpose of the conference.
- You possess integrity and are courteous and professional in your conduct.
- You are comfortable making cold calls and talking to business owners.
- You have about 2 years of experience in sales or non-profit fundraising, or event planning (if not, make us believe you will succeed!)
- You’ve got a strong sense of accountability, consistency, and a firm grasp of the use of video conferencing, Excel and CRM’s
Your responsibilities
- Sponsorship Sales: using curated lists of corporations, charities, non-profits and colleges, solicit sponsors to underwrite conference costs. Use creative execution of revenue channels via specific conference tracks or keynote speakers.
- Exhibitor Display Sales: Sell display booths in combination with other sponsorship or as a stand-alone. Prepare pricing and features with Event team.
- Promotional Campaigns: To gain new attendees, lead the marketing team to design promotional materials, and social media campaigns aimed at driving attendee early-bird registrations.
- Using a curated list, build relationships with charities and churches, universities, and professional associations to promote attendance and group ticket purchases.
- Sales to Previous Attendees: Develop and execute an email and phone sales plan to past attendees.
- Point of contact at Conference: Serve as the main point of contact for conference sponsors, exhibitors, and assist with Event team for attendee's on-site needs.
- Budget Management: Manage the inflows and outflows as they relate to this role to ensure the conference exceeds financial targets.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
