We are looking for a Fibre Optic Drop Technician with a valid BC Class 3 Licence to join our growing team at Infrapro Communications Ltd.
The successful candidate should possess the following:
Knowledge & Experience:
- MUST HAVE valid BC class 3 Licence & CLEAN driver’s abstract
- Candidate must be able to successfully pass a criminal record check
- Previous experience in Hydrovac operations an asset
- Ability to work aloft on extension ladders or step ladders
- Good physical condition
- Have a working cell phone to use job software app
- Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work in confined space and at elevation
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to do fine, precise work with their hands
- Safety minded
- Authorized to work in Canada
- Fluent in English (reading, writing and conversational)
- Maintain a professional working relationship with co-workers and clients
- Must be reliable, trustworthy and have a positive attitude
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Towing Hydrovac trailer unit & dump trailer unit
- Perform maintenance checks and inspection of Hydrovac unit when used.
- Understand the operation of the Hydrovac truck, including all controls, gauges and switches.
- Driving safely and professionally, obeying all traffic rules at all times.
- Installing underground and aerial fibre drops for residential housing and businesses.
- Placing buried conduits by hand trenching and Hydrovac operations.
- Termination and routing of fibre optic cable.
- Conduct Optical Power Meter testing of fiber connections.
- Confined space work as needed.
- Remediating Landscaping sites.
- Use ladders or bucket trucks to access aerial locations.
- Trouble shoot technical issues swiftly and accurately.
- Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of Infrapro.
