Position: HIS Security and Provider Analyst (Epic Go-Live Support)

Preparing for clinical transformation through the implementation of a new health information system (HIS) requires a dedicated team that brings together clinical and Digital expertise. We are excited to share an initial set of job opportunities to support this significant project.

The Epic Security Analyst, reporting into the Environment and Release Manager, will oversee and engage with Epic applications and technical teams to setup and maintain end-user access. Additionally, the Security and Providers Analyst will be responsible for the administration and coordination of all tasks related to SER, security tools and in compliance with UHN’s policies and processes.
Here’s what you’ll get to do
Creating all new users in Epic including employees, contractors, students, and external providers
Build and maintain all other EMP records including Templates and Background Users
Coordinating with the Training and Application teams to make sure the required training has been completed prior to granting or changing access
Working with Application Teams when they need to determine the implications of a desired change (whether it will affect more than the intended user group)
Build and maintain Security Master Files
Data Courier Security INIs from POC to other environments as requested by application groups if appropriately approved and coordinated
Consult with Users & Security work-group members to determine best and appropriate way to provide needed access to users throughout the enterprise
Gatekeeper to ensure that Epic system access is limited to only those people who are approved to have it
Create documentation to share with other Users & Security Coordinator team members for ongoing support
Successful completion of either a University Degree or College Diploma in a Computer Science or a Health-related discipline
Has work experience with IT system administrator functions in large-scale, complex, and infrastructure environments
Previous experience with Epic an asset
Moderate technical aptitude
The ability and willingness to learn new software and systems
Demonstrated flexibility with respect to changing end user needs
Demonstrates established project management skills
The ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner
The ability and willingness to recognize assignments or tasks that need to be completed, to seek out additional assignments or tasks, and to help others
The ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with leadership and other stakeholders
The ability to seek, logically examine, and interpret information from different sources to determine a problem’s cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence
The ability to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures
