One of our clients is looking for an experienced and reliable Working Foreperson to join their team.
Job Title: Working Foreperson
Location: Kitchener, Ontario
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay rate: $34.25 - $45.50 per hour
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a bridge crew while performing hands-on construction work.
- Plan and assign daily tasks and ensure the crew understands work expectations.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity on site.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure PPE, inspections, and safe work procedures are followed.
- Identify hazards and ensure proper controls are in place before work begins.
- Coordinate labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors as required.
- Monitor daily production and minimize downtime.
- Ensure work meets drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Oversee bridge construction activities including formwork, rebar, concrete, demolition, structural work, and rehabilitation.
- Maintain daily records, production tracking, photos, and other required documentation.
- Communicate progress, safety concerns, manpower needs, and project issues to the Superintendent.
- Work professionally with inspectors, consultants, and other site personnel.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of bridge or heavy civil construction experience with field leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of bridge construction, including formwork, rebar, concrete, demolition, and structural work.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong safety leadership and knowledge of high-risk construction activities.
- Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with daily reports, timekeeping, and production tracking.
- Ability to operate small tools and equipment.
- Valid Class G driver's licence.
- Ability to travel to job sites as required.
- Gold Seal Foreperson certification or equivalent is an asset.
