- Repair and Troubleshooting: Fix conveyors, mixers, pumps, and packaging lines during unexpected breakdowns.
- Preventative Maintenance: Run scheduled checks, lubricate moving parts, and replace worn items to stop future failures.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.
- Documentation: Log completed work orders and parts usage into the plant's computer system.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery, electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC units to prevent breakdowns.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to repair or replace faulty components.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues by diagnosing problems accurately and implementing timely solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and future reference.
- Assist with installation of new equipment or upgrades, ensuring all safety standards are met.
- Respond quickly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and ensure all safety protocols are followed during maintenance procedures.
Experience
Job Requirements
- Skills: Strong mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical troubleshooting background.
- Experience: Prior work in a food, beverage, or fast-paced manufacturing facility.
- Education: High school diploma plus technical or trade certification (Millwright, industrial mechanic, or electrical).
- Physical Needs: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or work in cold or warm plant areas for long shifts.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar hands-on maintenance role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general facility maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in industrial or commercial facilities is preferred but not required.
