Life at Swoop.

When you work for Swoop, you’re a part of an entrepreneurial startup where nimble, bold, collaborative and digitally-focused are just a few of the words we use to summarize how we roll. Swoop is a wholly owned subsidiary of the WestJet Group (TSX: WJA) but make no mistake, we march to the beat of our own drum. At Swoop, our day-to-day operations are vastly different and deliberately separate, but carefully aligned to complement the big picture strategy of the group.

The Role:
At Swoop, the Financial Analyst role is an integral part of our business and success. This individual will aid in the implementation of efficient processes and strong internal controls to ensure continual strategic growth for Swoop. You will be reporting to the Leader of Finance who will leverage your accounting knowledge and analytical insights on our current and future commercial, operational, and strategic initiatives. In this role, you will have a direct influence across Swoop's entire business, as you will be collaborating with various departments and Swoop’s leadership team.

This is an amazing opportunity for a candidate who possesses the ability to look within the numbers and beyond. You will get to work in a start-up environment where rules/procedures have yet to be codified but timelines are always too short, and you're expected to not only do your day job but to also assume additional responsibilities when required. The rewards are unparalleled with exposure across all of Swoop’s functional areas, and a broad range of initiatives and challenges, while working shoulder-to-shoulder with a highly motivated team who want to disrupt the airline industry in Canada.

Candidates looking for stable, well-defined 9-5 role need not apply. But if you’re looking to break into the travel industry, deal with adversity/uncertainty, make your mark on a truly pioneering Canadian airline and work with a can-do team, then we’d love to speak with you!
