Founded in 1911, Air Liquide Canada has over 2,200 employees and serves over 80,000 customers in Canada’s aeronautics, automobile, agri-food, chemical, defence, electronics, energy, metallurgy, metal fabrication, mining and healthcare industries from our sites located in key industrial regions from coast to coast.


Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will participate in project design as well as preparing drawings, plans and technical documents for new plants and modifications to existing plants while ensuring respect of instructions and promoting Air Liquide Canada’s safety and quality objectives.

Missions and Responsibilities

Responsible for design :
Designs and drafts, in collaboration with the project engineer, block diagrams, process flow diagrams (PFD) and process and instrumentation diagram (P&ID).
Designs and drafts the piping layout isometrics and supports, as well as preliminary foundation bases and buildings.
Ensures that drawings are issued and modified.
Verifies drawings prepared by other draftsmen.
Prepares drawings for ‘call for bids’ and construction

Participates in purchasing :
Prepares material data sheets and bill of material.
May receive material in certain cases.

Manages filing system:
Is responsible for filing all drawings in the electronic revision manager system, Autodesk Vault

Manages manuals and as built drawings:
Updates as-built drawings.
Responsible for operating and maintenance manuals.
Visits sites and supervises as required.

Quality / Safety:
Ensures that all elements of projects meet safety and quality requirements.
Actively promotes ALC’s safety objectives.
Knows and respects all procedures related to the Project Team.
Competencies and Profile

Diploma : D.E.C. in mechanical design or D.E.P. in technical drawing combined with related experience

Knowledge : Bilingualism (French and English) computer systems, MS Office, Google suite, AutoCad, autodesk Vault, CadWorx

Experience: 6 to 10 years experience in piping, preferably in the petrochemical field.
