The successful candidate will be responsible for the build and pre-shipment troubleshooting, qualification and teardown, within JFK automation, specialized equipment and related tooling and the subsequent set up, troubleshooting and production support of the same on the customer’s side.
Qualifications:
- Appropriate professional certificates as a General Machinist, Industrial Millwright or Tool & Die Maker, an asset
- Experience will be considered over certification
- Machining skills, pneumatic plumbing, light welding capabilities, hydraulic systems & plumbing
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to plan and execute the assembly of automated weld cells, nut welders, robotic equipment.
- Able to precisely fit, align, and assemble mechanical components, structural steel, machine details, guarding
- Perform required modifications to components using standard shop tools (grinders, drills, mills etc...) while maintaining required tolerances.
- Install and plumb pneumatic and hydraulic lines, components, ensuring proper function.
- Mount and align sensors, safety devices and other electrical components as per drawings.
- Check to verify the alignment of critical components using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and levels to achieve tight tolerance specifications.
- Experience moving heavy equipment with an overhead crane
- Experience using a forklift
- Fixture build experience is an asset
