Sales Manager Position

www.getMGU.com, a Markham based manufacturer of sublimated sports apparel & Teamwear, is looking for a Sales Manager to join our Team. We are looking for an experienced sales manager in the sports apparel industry with at least 5 years of experience. Our ideal candidate is a team player who can provide leadership to our sales team and achieve maximum profitability and growth. You will establish territorial sales objectives, develop and implement sales strategy and strengthen relationships with our key accounts while establishing
plans and strategies to expand the customer base. We require someone willing to travel, who sets examples for sales representatives in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits. We are looking for a candidate who possesses excellent oral communication skills, is result driven and willing to roll up their sleeves and work hard with the team to grow our company.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage inside and outside sales team including planning, assigning and directing work; coaching, appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems;
- Responsible for overall direction and coordination of sales team in accordance with company policies and all applicable laws;
- Supervise, coach and motivate sales reps to maximize sales effectiveness and potential;
- Maintain development plans for each individual sales team member to set clear expectations;
- Deploy marketing programs to achieve strategic objectives and financial goals;
- Develop and support sales processes to improve productivity and ensure that goals are met;
- Build strong internal understanding of customer base, including relevant segmentations and trends, business and regulatory driven and competitive strategies for maximum long-term return;
- Analyze characteristics and trends of the market and help define customer needs for new or modified products;
- Assist with coordination and implementation of trade shows and or events;
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must strongly understand the industry, technology, products and sports
- Ability to understand and apply market intelligence to sales strategy
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the sports apparel or related industry
- Strong leadership and presentation skills required.
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Proven Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Passion for sports is an asset
