The Programs Assistant provides administrative support for assigned faculty members and three programs within the nonprofit Management & Leadership Program (NMLP) Degree programs including BBA and MBA courses. New Arts Certificate in Nonprofit Management. and Non degree programs.
High School graduation. Completion of some College courses in a related filed such as bookkeeping, business office skills.
Minimum 3 - 5 years' recent, directly related, and hands-on experience (e.g providing course work support, administrative support. preparing/processing documents. Assembling information. Coordinating activities. maintaining files. Maintaining strict confidentiality. monitoring budgets) providing exceptional customer service preferably in a post-secondary environment.
Typing 45 - 50 wpm, accuracy essential. advanced skills/ability in the following areas: Word, Excel, database maintenance. Intermediate PowerPoint. Obtaining and providing information in a clear and concise manner. Strong written communications skills. dealing courteously and effectively with people at all levels. Exercising tact and diplomacy. Effective interpersonal skills. Attending accurately to details and working effectively under pressure of high volume and meeting deadlines. Excellent customer service and pleasant telephone manner. Effective time management, and organizational skills, including setting priorities. Exercising initiative and good judgement. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Strong English language skills, editing, spelling, punctuation, grammar essential. Very proficient Web-site development and maintenance skills required, HTML coding, Word Press, Email. Experience with Learning Materials Systems, e.g. Canvas, and graphic design. Experience with Moodle, and library searches is an asset. Excellent Attendance and punctuality are essential in this position.
Overtime may be available during peak periods.
Peak periods for this position: Prior to and during Sept, Jan, April, due to increased activity due to start of semester: July for Foundation courses.
Vacation restriction: Prior to and initial few weeks of each semester, and during extensive on-site workshop.
