We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant (CPA) to join our Edmonton team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including GL review, coding, and bank/credit card reconciliations
- Lead month-end close, including GST/HST filings and working papers
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records in compliance with accounting standards
- Support year-end audit, including audit schedules, documentation, and auditor inquiries
Team Support & Leadership
- Provide guidance, training, and review of work for junior accounting staff
- Collaborate with the Controller on financial reporting and special projects
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Stay current with CPA standards, ASPE/IFRS, and industry best practices
Qualifications & Experience
- CPA designation (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role
- Experience with full-cycle accounting, month-end, and audit preparation
- Strong experience with intercompany accounting and multi-entity structures
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Construction or real estate industry experience is an asset
