Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher to join our team. As a French Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating learning environment where students can develop their language skills and cultural understanding. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is enthusiastic about teaching French and making a positive impact on students' lives.
Job type: permanent, part-time, or contract-based
Location: You will work on the following location:
* UBC campus (near Norma Rose Elementary School)
Hours: flexible, 2-15 hours/week, during after-school hours (3-5 pm, and/or 5-6:30 pm).
Start date: Sept 2026
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the individual needs of students
* Teach fun, interactive French lessons to groups of students from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
* Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
* Communicate regularly with program staff and parents regarding student participation and progress.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Education, French, or a related field.
* Previous experience teaching or tutoring French to children.
* Familiarity with the BC Core French Curriculum and The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
* Experience teaching French at the elementary level is preferred
* First Aid Certification and ECEA Certification are assets.
* A clear criminal record check is required upon hiring.
