We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, and managing transactions in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Previous restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in food preparation, cashiering, and customer service. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders in a courteous manner
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established standards and safety guidelines
- Operate POS systems for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Manage cash register transactions efficiently, including processing payments and giving change
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, food prep stations, and utensils in accordance with food safety regulations
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Assist in maintaining a sanitized environment by adhering to sanitation standards and procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, cashiering, or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of POS systems
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices in the food industry
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or holidays if required
- Basic kitchen experience or familiarity with food preparation techniques is advantageous
