About the Role
The Service Desk, Plumbing, Electrical & HVAC Lead provides leadership for the Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC departments. This role combines customer service, merchandising, inventory management, sales leadership, and technical product expertise to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
What You'll Do
Customer Experience
· Deliver exceptional customer service and product advice.
· Build long-term customer relationships.
· Resolve customer concerns professionally.
· Source special orders and warranty replacements.
· Maintain a welcoming and helpful customer experience.
· Answer incoming calls and customer inquiries.
Department Leadership
· Lead the Service Desk and department associates.
· Train, coach and motivate team members.
· Maintain organized, fully stocked departments.
· Monitor product quality and presentation.
· Review new products and industry trends.
· Recommend assortment improvements.
Merchandising & Inventory
· Manage weekly inventory ordering.
· Review inventory levels and slow-moving products.
· Create promotional displays and endcaps.
· Assist with receiving, pricing and merchandising.
· Maintain clean, organized sales areas.
Sales & Business Performance
· Identify new sales opportunities.
· Attend Home Hardware Markets, seminars and trade shows.
· Achieve department sales goals.
· Provide expert advice in Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Hardware and Tools.
What You Bring
Experience
· Minimum five years of retail sales experience.
· Experience, knowledge and expertise in tools, hardware, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, along with building & renovations knowledge.
· Ability to work well with others and take direction from senior management.
· Strong family values are essential.
· Organizational skills required.
Skills & Qualifications
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
· Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
· Basic computer proficiency.
· Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
· Comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment.
· Physically able to lift 30–50 lbs.
· Passion for helping customers and developing staff.
Schedule
· Full-time position (12-24 hours per week).
· Store hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
· Evening and weekend availability is required, including approximately two Saturdays per month.
