We are seeking a skilled and versatile Skilled Hardscape Laborer to join our client's landscaping team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscape and hardscape construction, have a strong attention to detail and craftsmanship and work well independently. Responsibilities
- Perform brick, stone and interlock installation in precise patterns and layouts.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently for excavation and base preparation.
- Safely operate saws and hand tools to cut stone and pavers.
- Perform manual tasks while sweeping sand and finishing work.
- Assist landscape team with sod installation and final grading.
- Understand rendering plans and site drawings.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in hardscape and landscape construction.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (skid steer, mini excavator, plate compactor, brick saw, etc.) safely and effectively.
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools for various construction tasks.
- Valid G driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience with retaining wall and step installation is an asset.
- Knowledge of drainage systems is an asset.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols with the ability to learn.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding labor tasks over extended periods in all weather conditions.
