We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting and maintaining enterprise mainframe environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IMS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, and automation tools, along with experience in banking or financial services. This role focuses on database administration, environment rebuilds, automation, and production support within a large-scale mainframe ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Database Maintenance
Maintain and support DB2 and IMS databases in enterprise environments.
Execute IMS image copy, DBRC recovery, backup, and restore processes.
Create, restore, and maintain IMS and DB2 databases.
Monitor database space utilization and perform scheduled reorganizations (REORGs) and expansions.
Maintain and support IMS Analyzer jobs.
Work with IMS transactions, commands, and recovery utilities.
Environment Rebuild & Support
Plan, coordinate, and execute environment rebuild activities.
Perform IMS backup and recovery using IMS DBRC, recovery utilities, Fast Path (FP), and Fast Forward (FF) database initialization.
Execute DB2 backup, unload, reload, and recovery processes.
Create, load, unload, and maintain VSAM datasets and path files.
Monitor system activities using SDSF.
Support FTP file transfers and execute CICS commands as required.
Automation & Operational Support
Maintain and enhance CLIST, REXX, and SAS automation scripts and panels.
Develop automation solutions for environment rebuilds, code promotion, and cleanup activities.
Create operational tools and utilities to improve testing and deployment processes.
Support software configuration management using Endevor.
Troubleshoot and resolve environment and deployment issues.
Required Skills
5+ years of Mainframe development/support experience.
Strong experience with DB2 and IMS Database Administration.
Hands-on experience with IMS DBRC, image copy, recovery, and database utilities.
Experience with VSAM, JCL, CICS, and SDSF.
Strong scripting skills using REXX, CLIST, and SAS.
Experience with Endevor for source code management.
Knowledge of FTP processes and mainframe environment support.
Experience in banking or financial services is highly preferred.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise mainframe applications.
Knowledge of production support, release management, and environment automation.
Ability to work in Agile and cross-functional teams.

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
