We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team and support our continued growth.
Position Summary
The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller to manage day-to-day accounting and finance operations across multiple companies. This role requires strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to grow into more senior accounting responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and maintain internal accounting controls and procedures
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for multiple entities
- Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Collaborate with the Human Resources team on payroll-related activities
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close processes
- Support year-end close and work with external accountants
- Develop and maintain Excel templates to improve accounting efficiency
- Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses for the Controller
- Engage with internal team members to support company integration and collaboration
- Demonstrate initiative and growth toward more advanced accounting and finance responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Education or background in Accounting or Finance (strongly preferred)
- 2-5 years of relevant accounting and/or finance experience
- Experience with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with accounting software and financial systems
- Strong understanding of financial data, trends, and workflows
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume workflow
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Professional attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn and grow
Work Schedule & Compensation
- 44+ hours per week
- Salaried position with compensation above market upon completion of onboarding and training
Additional Information
- Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- No overseas sponsorship available at this time
- Must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to Leamington, ON prior to start date

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
