About Us
Metrocan Distribution Corp. is a growing building materials company serving contractors and construction professionals across British Columbia. We are looking for an experienced Office Manager to oversee daily office operations, accounting support, payroll, customer service, and compliance functions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Employee Administration
- Process payroll and payroll remittances accurately and on time
- Monitor employee time entries, clock-in/clock-out records, and attendance
- Maintain employee records, updates, and personnel files
- Track and organize employee information for reporting and compliance
Accounting & Financial Support
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process invoices, credits, and returns
- Send, receive, and reconcile customer and vendor statements
- Follow up on outstanding balances and payment issues
- Process PST remittances and other government filings
- Assist management and accounting professionals by organizing financial records and preparing supporting documentation for payroll, tax filings, remittances, and reporting
- Support month-end and year-end financial processes
Operations & Customer Service
- Receive and process customer orders accurately
- Coordinate deliveries with yard and dispatch teams
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and drivers to ensure smooth operations
- Handle order changes, returns, and customer issue resolution
- Provide strong customer service and problem-solving support
Compliance & Fleet Administration
- Maintain WorkSafeBC documentation and reporting requirements
- Manage vehicle insurance renewals and records
- Coordinate annual inspections and compliance requirements
- Maintain NSC (National Safety Code) documentation and files
- Support annual corporate reporting and filing requirements
Office Support
- Order and maintain office and yard supplies
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed
- Support general administrative duties to ensure smooth office operations
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in office management
- Experience in building materials, construction, distribution, or manufacturing industry is an asset
- Experience with ECI Spruce ERP is a strong asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
