Mechanical Assembly Technician

$25-$26hr with benefits, RRSP and room for advancement

Responsibilities
· Read and interpret engineering drawings used for assembly of minor sub-assemblies and the equipment as a whole.
· Troubleshoot mechanical issues, report, repair and/or correct the issues with minimal supervision
· Test and run the equipment specific for a customers application. This involves setting up / customizing the machinery to best suit the customer's application needs.
· Host and train customers when they come to see and train on their equipment before it is scheduled to depart the production floor.
· Work closely alongside the electrical wiring department to ensure sub-assemblies are completed both mechanically and electrically before being installed onto the equipment for maximum assembly efficiency.
· Help build crates, skids and pallets for machinery that is scheduled to depart the building.
· Report inventory shortages of assembly hardware i.e. nuts, bolts, washers, wood, shop tools etc. to the production supervisor.
· Use of hand a power tools to build assemblies and sub assemblies
Qualifications
· High School Diploma
· 3-5 years of working experience in Assembly
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
· Experience with various hand a power tools
· Strong communication and organizational skills
Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
