Autism & Behaviour Services, a program of H-N REACH, provides behavioural services to families with children and youth that have developmental disabilities who live in the counties of Haldimand & Norfolk and surrounding areas. Our behavioural services include the Behaviour Support Program and the Ontario Autism Program which consists of Foundational Family Services, Caregiver Mediated Early Years, Entry to School, Urgent Response Services, and Core Clinical Services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual services to families and their children (up to age eighteen) who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and who are also experiencing skills deficits in the areas of communication, self-help, and social skills in the centre, home and a variety of community settings as appropriate
- Develop and implement treatment and social groups designed to meet the specific needs of the children or youth and their families
- Prepare clinical documentation such as baselines, graphing and discharge summaries as required
- Develop or gather resource materials and information for workshops to share with community partners and other agency programs.
Qualifications:
- College diploma or undergraduate degree in the Social Sciences (Autism & Behavioural Sciences preferred) or acceptable equivalent of education and combined experience
- Several years' experience working with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Knowledge and understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis
- Ability to problem-solve, think creatively and act quickly to meet family’s needs
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings
- Criminal & Judicial Matters and Vulnerable Sector Record Check & Children’s Aid Society Declaration/Release
- Possession of a valid driver’s licence, $2 million vehicle liability insurance, clear Driver Abstract and use of a vehicle.
