Description
The General Construction Project Manager leads Cora new restaurant construction projects across Canada. This role partners closely with franchisees, internal teams, and external contractors, to drive project delivery from planning through construction and store opening. You are responsible for scheduling, budgeting, permitting, administration, and quality control, ensuring projects are executed on time, on budget, and to Cora’s standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong organization, clear communication, and a commitment to excellence. Work with the project team, manage stakeholders, and document learnings to continuously improve the new store development process and elevate the Cora guest and team experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple store development projects from project commencement through construction and store opening.
- Lead the project team (franchisees, internal and external partners) by defining and communicating the project tasks, as well as processing and tracking milestones within the project cycle.
- Coordinate with in-house real estate team on the leasing agreement, landlord scope of work and project schedule to ensure the delivery of the new store within committed lease obligations.
- Develop the project milestone schedule and lead the project team to meet scheduled dates.
- Establish, and evaluate project estimates and budgets using inputs from all project partners, and project historical data.
- Assist in selection and supervision of project partners such as the general contractor, equipment partner and consultants during planning and construction.
- Work together with the project accountant to track all project costs, timely payment of contracts and invoices, and report weekly on project costs.
- Leverage relevant partners to resolve roadblocks.
- Facilitate a deficiency-free project handover to operations team, ensuring they have the support needed for a successful store opening.
- Manage project close-out of all documentation, site deficiencies, and project financials with the assistance of the project accountant, including the submission of all required documentation to the Landlord to ensure timely release of the Tenant Improvement Allowance.
- Partner with franchisees for any warranty issues and report findings for future best practices accordingly.
- As required, manage remodelling and renovations of existing restaurants.

Requirements
- You bring 7+ years of project management experience, ideally within construction environments.
- Experience in the commercial hospitality industry preferred.
- Advance knowledge and experience working with MS365 required and open to new technology AI.
- Experience with MS Project preferred.
- Experience with SketchUp and CAD an asset
- Post-Secondary Education, in Construction, Design or Engineering related programs (preferred but not required).
- PMP certification an asset.
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
- Bilingualism an asset (English required to work regularly with franchisees outside Qc).
- Strong attention to detail and process flow.
- Highly capable in negotiation and mediation of conflict resolution.
- Highly organized and self-motivated in planning and performance control.
- High performer under stress and high-pressure situations.
- Retains focus and traction on the entire cycle of a Project from project commencement through construction and store opening.
- Takes ownership and initiative to execute successful project.
- Traveling required.

Pay: $70,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
